Cohere Health Improves Provider Experience with AI-powered Ambient Prior Authorization at the Point of Care

Ambient listening collaboration with Microsoft Dragon Copilot will give clinicians transparency and guidance for real-time care approvals

BOSTON (October 16, 2025) – Cohere Health^®, the leader in clinical intelligence solutions for health plans, will bring together its prior authorization capabilities with Microsoft Dragon Copilot to automate care requests made by healthcare providers. This extension will help clinicians secure approvals in real time at the point of care, to reduce administrative burden and speed access to necessary care for their patients.

Unlike traditional solutions that process manual requests with minimal data from questionnaires in the EHR, Cohere Health leverages responsible, clinically trained AI to automate up to 90% of prior authorization requests while maintaining 94% provider satisfaction. The new collaboration will allow clinicians using Dragon Copilot during patient visits to instantly submit care requests to and receive real-time feedback from health plans. Cohere Health pulls from both structured and unstructured data–patient notes, documentation, and orders–to provide deeper clinical insights, minimizing manual data entry and reducing errors.

This streamlined process, with in-the-moment transparency and guidance, will improve payer-provider collaboration and communication, in turn cutting down on costly delays, administrative overhead, and provider friction.
